NJ TE favors Rutgers

Tight end Scott Schultz moved from the Midwest in just the last couple years to Wayne (N.J.) Wayne Hills. Does the 6-foot-4, 245-pounder have a desire to go back near where he grew up?

"I grew up a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes," he said. "I'd definitely consider them and going back there because I know it's a great program.
"I've been getting a lot of other interest though from Rutgers, Penn State, Virginia and Boston College. I'd say Rutgers is my favorite now because the program is on the way up and the academics there are good too. I've visited a few times and they've got a great campus and the Hale Center is amazing."
The future sports management major has a few factors that could play into his decision.
"One thing for sure is that I want to go to a Division I school," he said. "Playing time will also be a crucial factor and then it would be nice to be close to home."
Though he wasn't used a lot, Schultz hauled in six receptions for 100 yards and four touchdowns as a junior. On defense he had 62 tackles, eight sacks and two fumble recoveries.
"I want to play tight end in college most likely," he said. "I feel I have everything for the position. I run good cut routes, it's fun to block every once in a while and I have good hands."
Schultz has at least one camp in mind as he plans to head to Rutgers summer camp.
