NJ rising junior focusing on season

Most of the current attention at Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep is on the upcoming season and the 2012 recruiting class. However, the Class of 2013 also has a few interesting prospects, including LB Razohnn Gross. Gross is also receiving recruiting interest for another sport and has some choices to make in the future, but for now he is concentrating on his junior season.
Aside from attending a team camp at Boston College, Gross decided to lay low this summer.
"My main focus was on my team and getting better with my team," said Gross, who is 5-foot-11 and 217-pounds. "Everything is moving in the right direction right now. I'm just doing everything I can to help the team and have a good season."
While recruiting is on the backburner, Gross did mention a few schools.
"Miami, Rutgers and East Carolina wanted me to come to their summer camps," said Gross. "I'm just getting letters from different colleges, just showing interest. Hopefully this year will be a good junior year."
Aside from football, Gross also excels at another sport.
"I'm more of an all-around athlete," said Gross. "I also wrestle and college coaches for wrestling are also interested in me. The North Carolina coach keeps writing me, but I'm not really interest in wrestling. My passion is football."
For his upcoming junior season, Gross was moved to fullback on offense, and will continue to see time at defensive end on defense. During the summer and throughout his recruiting process, Gross has made it a point to pay attention to many of the upperclassmen at Don Bosco Prep.
"I've learned a lot from them," said Gross. "Just seeing how they play and the passion they play with means a lot to me. I respect all of them."
