NJ receiver adds a Big Ten offer

Marlton (N.J.) Cherokee wide receiver Lynell Payne picked up his eighth offer of the recruiting season not too long ago. The 6-foot-2, 203-pounder landed the scholarship from the Big Ten.
"I got a new offer from Iowa," he said. "I haven't talked to the coaches from there, but I like that offer, I really like it. I'd say they are leading.

"I like that they are in the Big Ten and every year they are in the BCS hunt. I also like coach Wilson from there. He's from around here and I know him personally."
Payne's other offers are from Cincinnati, Connecticut, Clemson, Temple, Akron, Buffalo and Delaware.
At this time, one other school is still considering offering, Michigan State.
"They are saying how I can make an impact there, but don't want to offer yet."
With an offer and a favorite, is Payne closing in a on a decision?
"I'm not sure when I'll do that," he stated. "I'm not going to commit anywhere until I take visits. I'm going to try to work them around my schedule. I think Cincinnati will be during our bye week and then I'm also looking at Iowa, Connecticut and Clemson for trips."
