NJ linebacker picks up a new offer

Matt Hardison out of Freehold (N.J.) Freehold Township holds six offers now. The 6-foot-3, 226-pound linebacker picked up his most recent offer during a visit a couple of weekends ago.
"I went to Delaware when they were having a one day," he said. "I did some drills, a 40, pro agility and before I went into 7-on-7 they told me that they had seen enough and would offer me.

"I liked the visit, it was nice. I didn't really get to look around the campus, but they told me they'd show me around if I go back up there. I liked Delaware before they offered because they have a good program and I know it's a good school. I was a little disappointed when one coach told me I could play basketball, but then the head coach said I couldn't. They did got me a little more excited when they told me they're recruiting me as an athlete."
Hardison claims that his current leaders are the teams that have offered which include Delaware, Temple, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Rutgers and Louisville.
One school that has started to drop off for the No. 29 player in New Jersey is Virginia.
"I thought UVa might even offer because earlier they looked like they really wanted me," he said. "Recently though I haven't heard from them, so I'm not sure. I thought the same about Delaware though, and then suddenly they offered."
Hardison plans to take all five official visits, but he still doesn't know who he'd like to take them to.
School is quickly approaching for the prospect, what is he looking forward to this year?
"I'm excited for all the sports to start," he said. "I think all of our teams are going to be great. For football, we've got a lot of kids stepping up and I'm going to play a lot more on offense. I think our football team will be pretty good and I want to do whatever I can to help the team win.
"I know basketball will be good too because we have developed good chemistry and got to the quarterfinals last year. Finally, in track we won our conference and I finished seventh in the shot putt a year ago. I think I have a good chance at that and the disc this year."
