Nixon staying quiet

Three-star Las Vegas (Nevada) Cimarron all-purpose running back Stephen Nixon is one of the West's best backs. As a junior, he rushed for 1,954 yards and 23 touchdowns. Those numbers attracted an early offer from UNLV and during the spring evaluation period more schools have joined in.
"My coach says I have offers from Colorado State and Utah State, in addition to UNLV," Nixon said.
"I haven't really been talking to Colorado State. Utah State, they're alright, I don't know. I don't know too much about them. I'm not really hearing from too many Pac 10 schools. Other schools have been sending me letters, but we really haven't talked this spring."
Nixon said he wouldn't mind hearing from schools outside of the Western Region.
"Schools down in the South and out that way would be good to hear more from," he said. "Yeah, I am interested in the West Coast schools, but I don't know."
Nixon said UNLV is the school he knows the most about, but he doesn't seem high on them, or anybody for that matter.
"They have good coaches and it's close to home, but it's not my hometown," he said.
"I know that just Colorado State and UNLV have been by the school. I don't have any plans for summer camp yet. I want to do some this summer, but I still have track right now, and then right after track is football. I do the 100s, 200s, 4x100s and 4x200s, it's going good."
Nixon said he's got a few things that will be important to him when it comes time to make a decision. He also said it's important for him to not to get a big head.
"I just a good education and trying to make it," he said. "I don't know when I plan to make a decision. I'm not like everybody else, I'm not cocky. I'm more humble than anyone else."
