NIU picks up offensive lineman

Last week Northern Illinois picked up a commitment from one of the top offensive linemen in Wisconsin.
Josh Ruka, a 6-foot-6, 285-pound offensive tackle from Greenfield, Wisconsin, has committed to NIU.

"I committed last Friday I think," Ruka said.
"I just felt like it was a place where I can grow. All the coaches are so nice down there. Their head coach is a great guy and I'm actually really fortunate because my recruiting coordinator is the offensive line coach.
"The whole environment there feels great. It feels like somewhere I can really enjoy for four or five years."
Ruka said that he's convinced Northern Illinois is the best MAC school for him, but there is a school in the Big Ten that he's waiting to hear back from.
"Michigan State has told me they're not going to offer me right now but I might be a September (offer) kid. If that happens it might be something I have to look at," he noted.
