Nittany Lions offer Illinois prospect

Wheaton, Ill. four star ranked offensive tackle prospect Dace Richardson (6-foot-6, 300 pounds) has landed a late spring offer from Penn State on Wednesday afternoon.
“I stopped in at my coaches office on Wednesday after our team camp," Dace Richardson said. “On my coaches desk was a Fed-Ex package waiting for me from Penn State, and the Nittany Lions have offered me a scholarship."

"I'm pretty happy about getting an offer from Penn State, and I was also surprised to get an offer from them as well. I talked to the coaches during the May evaluation period, and they told me that they were going to keep an eye on me this fall, but that they had no plans to offer any linemen from Illinois. Joe Paterno also made an in school visit back in May and he also told my coach (Ron Muhitch) basically the same thing. I'm definitely honored that Penn State decided to offer me a scholarship."
Richardson is more than well aware of Penn State football. "Just having a coach as legendary as Joe Paterno tells you a lot about the history and the tradition of Penn State. Penn State has a lot to offer both academically and athletically, and I'm going to do some research on them shortly."
