Nittany Lions add another

New Haven (Conn.) Hyde Leadership cornerback Willie Harriott had a simple message for Penn State coaches who visited him Wednesday night.
"I'm a Lion," the 5-foot-10, 180-pound prospect said. "Penn State has great tradition and a great school. I want to be a part of it. When I visited there I was sold on it. I felt like part of the team. Little kids were coming up asking me for my autograph. I already felt like I was on the team."

Harriott was led to his verbal commitment by another factor – Penn State head coach Joe Paterno.
"He is a super person and so down to earth," Harriott said. "You hear about how his number is right there in the phone book and you have wonder if he can be like that. He really is. It was an honor to be recruited by someone like him."
The three-star prospect has a 3.4 GPA and 910 SAT. The No. 40 cornerback in the nation might show up on either side of the ball.
"They've talked about wide receiver and cornerback," Harriott said. "They've talked about playing both sides of the ball, but we'll have to see."
Syracuse and Connecticut had also made offers, but Harriott said his recruiting is over.
"I'm done," Harriott said. "I don't need to go anywhere else. Penn State is where I want to be."
