Nine offers for 2015 DL

Ever since he appeared at Rivals.com event last spring, 2015 defensive lineman Christian Wilkins of Suffield (Conn.) Suffield Academy seemed destined to become a star. After picking up three additional offers during the spring, the big lineman now has nine and has positioned himself as one of the top defensive recruits in the region during the next recruiting cycle.
"Recruiting during the spring went well," said Wilkins, who is 6-foot-4 and 295 pounds. "I picked up a few more big offers and I am happy with what is going on."

The three new offers came in from Ohio State, Stanford and Iowa. These three join his previous offers from Boston College, Virginia, Penn State, Connecticut, Florida State and Maryland.
"It's nice to have these offers, but it's important that I work hard and don't get complacent," said Wilkins.
The only camp stop for Wilkins has been to Boston College.
"It was a nice camp and I got a lot of work in," said Wilkins. "I feel it was effective."
Wilkins is claiming that each of the schools that have offered are showing him an equal amount of attention at this point. He does believe that Florida is another school that may be close to offering.
At this early stage, Wilkins was also asked if there are any early favorites.
"No, I'm just letting things play out," said Wilkins, who does have a few specific things he hopes to find in his future school. "Great academics, good football and a place where I feel at home."
Finally, Wilkins discussed what parts of his game he has worked to improve during his current off-season.
"My strength and pass rush, and just getting better while playing inside overall," he said.
