Nick Smith down to three

Canton (Ohio) GlenOak defensive tackle / offensive tackle Nick Smith has been looking at all of his collegiate options, and has started eliminating schools from his list of favorites. Three schools have made the cut and he will make his decision after taking official visits to all of them.
“I have narrowed my list down to three: Michigan State, Pittsburgh, and Kentucky,” he commented. “I've been to those three, and I like them the best.”

He has already had in-home visits with Michigan State and Pittsburgh and Pitt already has plans to return this week. Michigan state head coach John L. Smith and defensive coordinator Chris Smeland were in his house along with Pitt assistant head coach Bob Junko.
“They were really nice people,” he described all of them in general. “I mean I've seen them a lot, but my family just got to meet them now.”
He has already officially visited Michigan State (Nov. 21) and has moved his Pitt visit up to this upcoming weekend (Dec. 12). He will visit Kentucky on Jan. 16 before making his final decision.
“I have no idea for sure where I'm going,” he commented. “I'm going to take all my visits, because I’m just really confused.
“I don’t know where I want to go. They’re all good schools, so I really couldn’t wrong, but I mean I can only choose one.”
Minnesota and NC State were also on his list, but he recently dropped both schools.
“Minnesota is too far and too cold,” he explained. “NC State hasn’t called me for a month. If they wanted me that bad they would keep tabs on me.”
Smith stands 6-foot-6, weighs 280 pounds, and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.95 seconds. He is rated the No. 50 defensive tackle in the country by Rivals.com.
