Nice Pickup For Wake Forest

According to Newsobserver.com, Wake Forest has received an oral commitment from Durham (N.C.) Northern safety Josh Gattis.
"Wake Forest is nationally known for its academics," Gattis said. "I think the athletic program is headed in the same direction."

Gattis, a 6-foot-3, 190-pounder ranked 24th in the nation at safety, chose Wake Forest over offers from North Carolina and East Carolina. Last season Gattis made 109 tackles, intercepted one pass, broke up nine others and blocked two kicks. He and teammate A.J. Davis form one of the top defensive back duos in the country. Davis is one of the top five cornerbacks in the country.
"We're happy for A.J. for all of the attention that he is getting," Gattis said. "But that inspires us to want to make big plays, so that people will notice us, too."
