Newton Starting To Set Visits

Bennettsville (S.C.) Marlboro County quarterback Syvelle Newton is starting to schedule his official visits. Can anyone overcome his current leader?
"I'm going to take an official visit to UCLA in a few weeks, I'm not sure for what game though. I'm also going to take an official visit to Southern Cal but I don't have a date for that yet," said the 6-foot-2, 210-pound dual-threat quarterback. "I'm also thinking about visiting Clemson, Florida State or Miami, but I don't know yet."

While Newton wants to remain open, none of the above teams lead for his services.
"South Carolina is still my favorite team," he said. "I know I'll take an official visit there and I've already been there a few times this year."
Newton just led his team to a 23-6 win over Crestwood by rushing for 98 yards and throwing for another 65. He also scored two touchdowns. There were rumors that he was not happy that South Carolina received a verbal commitment from Georgia quarterback Blake Mitchell recently. Is that true?
"Nah," he said. "It's all cool. Coach (Skip) Holtz and I talked about it and I still consider it my job if I decide to go to South Carolina."
Newton said he expects to make a decision by January at the latest.
