Gulfport (Fla.) Boca Ciega wide receiver Jamar Newsome made an official visit to Florida Atlantic during the weekend, but is not close to making a decision.
"It's still up in the air," he said.
The trip to Boca Raton was Newsome's fourth official visit.
"It was a good visit," Newsome said. "I really had a good time.
"I like the players' attitude and I think it's a good school."
The 6-foot-2, 175-pounder received a formal offer as soon as he stepped on campus and got to meet with Owls head coach Howard Schnellenberger.
"He said he wanted me and that I could be a good part of the offense," Newsome said.
He also commented on the facilities in Boca Raton.
"The facilities were ok," Newsome said. "It was decent. I think it's what you make of it."
Kirk Hoza is Newsome's Florida Atlantic recruiter of record.
Newsome has previously visited Akron (Dec. 9), Ohio U. (Jan. 6), Central Florida (Jan. 13) and is tentatively scheduled to visit South Florida next weekend. He has offers from every school on his list except for the Bulls.
