Newell visits Maryland

Taking his second visit, Kyle Newell from Bethlehem (Pa.) Catholic got a chance to check out Maryland. So how did he rate the visit?
“I would give it a 9, it is a good school overall and the weekend went well. I liked the coaching staff, the players and they’re a good academically,” said the 6-foot-5, 230-pounder. "I got along with everyone."

Did the visit help him get closer to a decision at all?
“All the schools are still the same until I take all my visits,” he said. “I think I might add a fifth visit. I’m not sure who I’ll add, but it’ll probably not be Tennessee. I don't know yet.”
This season the quiet three-star prospect helped Catholic to a 7-5 record as they won two playoffs games. He hauled in 44 receptions for 800 yards and five touchdowns on offense and posted 70 tackles and seven sacks on defense.
Newell has been recruited as a tight end, wide receiver, linebacker and defensive lineman.
As for when a decision will be made, he said bluntly, “After I take all my visits.”
Newell is now headed to North Carolina State next weekend.
