Newell discusses decision factors

Bethlehem (Pa.) Catholic defensive end Kyle Newell had over 20 scholarship offers by the end of the summer. That total hasn't changed much, but Newell has been able to focus on a half dozen schools he's interested in.
"I still have about 20 offers," Newell said. "I'm looking at Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland, Florida, Florida State, and Miami."

"Most of them have offered. Miami and Florida haven't."
"Right now I'm not sure who I'll visit. I haven't scheduled any yet."
Asked how he will decide on his visits and ultimately his college choice, Newell said, "I'll look at academics. And how I get along with the coaches and players at the schools. How comfortable I feel there."
The 6-foot-5 and 230 pound Newell made 80 tackles including five sacks during his junior season. He missed the first two games of his senior season with a high ankle sprain. However Newell has come back to make 38 tackles the past three games.
Newell is No. 11 strongside defensive end prospect in the Rivals.com player rankings and the No. 3 overall prospect in the state of Pennsylvania.
