New York JUCO has two MAC offers

Alfred State Community College is home to one of the top junior college defensive ends in the region in Kyle Ricks, and the 6-foot-4, 245-pound prospect has two offers thus far.
Temple offered Ricks much earlier in the recruiting process and the Owls are in a great position to land him, assuming nothing major happens with other schools.

"I still have the offer from Temple," Ricks explained. "I like Temple a lot. So far that's my favorite school until I get another school talking to me."
Ricks visited Temple earlier in the recruiting process. Recently another school became the second to offer him a scholarship.
"Akron gave me an offer and I got a call from Youngstown yesterday," he continued.
"I would say Akron offered me a good three, four weeks ago. It was around the second to last game of the season. They've been calling me and I like their school. They've got a nice school but they didn't have a good season."
Ricks said the coaches from Texas Tech recently contacted him and asked him for his film. He sent that film to them last Thursday and is waiting for a response.
His season at Alfred State C.C. went well, though he didn't have quite the statistical season he was hoping for.
"Individually I had an okay season but it wasn't what I wanted it to be," he said. "We have a lot of good players on our defense so you can't expect to get that many tackles. I was our second leading tackler behind our free safety."
Ricks said Akron is recruiting him as a defensive end, while most schools like him predominantly as a defensive end that could play outside linebacker in some situations.
