New week brings new big offer for Davis

Dallas (Texas) Skyline wide receiver Mike Davis was at Texas this weekend for a junior day. Though he left Austin without an offer, Davis' disappointment in that was quickly remedied on Monday when a new offer came his way. The LSU staff extended Davis an offer and the 6-1 wide receiver was happy to see it.
"Yeah, I got an offer from LSU," Davis confirmed. "I wasn't really expecting that offer to come but it came so I'm excited about it. I like what they've got going for themselves and the kind of players they're getting. They only get the best so I feel like I'm the best too so it's good to get the offer."

Davis' weekend in Austin was a good visit but he has his eyes on other programs at this point.
"It was alright," he said. "It was the first time that I'd been there. No disrespect to Texas but it was nothing that really impressed me."
Davis already thinks that LSU could be a strong candidate for an official visit in the fall and he hopes to get to Baton Rouge for an unofficial visit if he can fit it in. Fresh off the offer, the Tigers are among Davis' short list of favorites.
"OU and LSU, they're my top two," he said. "Right now cause LSU came, they're elite too. But I like OU a lot though. I like the coaching staff, the school, the program, the academics. They just win and that's something I want to be on is a team that wins. That and go to the NFL."
As a junior, Davis was one of the most productive receivers in the state of Texas, with over 1,100 yards and 16 touchdowns.
