New top two for four star DE

A while back, Marshall, Mich., standout defensive end Doug Van Dyke said he had reduced his list to four teams – Michigan, Ohio State, Purdue and Wisconsin. While that remains the same, he said he’s shaken his top two up somewhat.
After listing both Michigan and Ohio State as his top two teams, the four-star player said things are a little different now.

“It’s a tied up between Michigan and Purdue,” Van Dyke, who is 6-foot-6 and 245 pounds, said. “I like Michigan because it’s close to home and it’s a great program. Purdue is a place that I really liked when I went up there for an unofficial visit. I really like the way they play their defensive ends.”
Van Dyke said Ohio State and Wisconsin would also definitely get visits – with his first trip probably being to Wisconsin and last ones being to Michigan and Purdue. But at this point, he does not have any dates officially set in stone.
Van Dyke and Marshall are off to a 1-1 start with its only loss coming to Portage Central, 3-0.
“It was a defensive battle,” he said. “We have a good sophomore quarterback but Central scouted us really good in preseason scrimmages and just blitzed him every play. He got a little shell-shocked.”
In those first two games, Van Dyke already has four sacks.
