New Top Five For Jefferson

For the first time in weeks, Wesley Jefferson has named a solid top five which he is not wavering at all on. What lucky schools have cracked his list?
"Right now I'm confident that my favorite schools are Southern Cal, Penn State, Virginia, Miami, and Notre Dame. I know Virginia hasn't been there all along, but they're doing something special there with all that young talent."

Jefferson is a terror playing inside linebacker at 6-foot-2 and 235 pounds. He also runs the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds and easily bench presses more than 300 pounds. While some guys boast of their weight room acheivements, Jefferson gets it done on the field. As a junior at Brandywine (Md.) Gwynn Park he amassed 113 solo tackles and also showed the ability to get in the backfield with 13 sacks.
"I've got offers to just about any school I could think of, and that includes the major schools. I didn't think there would be as much pressure once I had gotten the offers behind me, but the decision is going to be really, really tough. Maybe one of the toughest decisions I'll ever have to make."
Jefferson has reminded numerous spectators of Maryland linebacker E.J. Henderson with his size and speed going across the field. He's a sure tackler, and knows how to shoot the gaps and get to the quarterback better than most linebackers.
"I'm not sure when I'd like to make my decision. I really do feel like I've narrowed my list down, maybe for good, for the first time in the whole process. Some of the schools I originally liked are there, and one or two are there that I hadn't considered earlier. I'd say all five are probably even right now, and distance isn't going to play a factor."
Jefferson already has his first official visit scheduled for Dec. 13 at Miami.
