New Temple commit Gary Brightwell: "I put on for my hometown"

The Latest: Temple picked up another commit in the Class 0f 2017 when versatile athlete Gary Brightwell made his pledge to the school official. Rivals.com recently caught up with Brightwell to get his thoughts on the commitment, as well as to find out what the factors were that put the Owls over the edge.

In His Words: "They showed me the most love. Other colleges weren't coming to me, calling me all the time, not like them. They were hitting me up every night. They were showing me the most interest. Every coach talks to me and shows me love, from the head coach on down. It's great to know that the head coach cares about you like he does. He has personally showed me around campus. I enjoyed it being there so I knew it was the place for me. I'm very locked in with Temple. As soon as I get back in town. I'll be back on campus. It's only 20 minutes from my house. I put on for my hometown."

Rivals Reaction: Brightwell is passionate about representing his hometown at Temple so it's not surprising that he made the decision to commit when he did. Other schools will likely try to make a run at him as the cycle moves along, but it's hard to see him ended up anywhere else other than with the Owls.
