New team moves up for Oklahoma TE

It appears that a new team is quickly shooting up the list for Midwest City (Okla.) Carl Albert tight end J.D. Runnels.
The 6-foot-1, 230-pound Runnels said Kansas State is now his top team. The Wildcats are ahead of Texas A&M (offer) and Oklahoma.

“My No. 1 team is Kansas State,” Runnels said. “I’ve been reading on Rivals a lot about how good they’re going to be this year. I’m getting recruited by coach (Greg) Peterson at K-State. He’s a really cool guy. I know that’s he’s not being totally nice to me to be nice. He’ll be honest with me.”
Runnels said that the Wildcats have orally offered him a scholarship, while A&M has put an offer in writing and the Aggies are also in the hunt.
“They’re still up there on my list at No. 2,” Runnels said. “I loved it down there when I went to visit. I think that’s a place that I’m definitely going to visit for sure.”
Oklahoma is the other team on Runnels’ list. He said the Sooners aren’t showing as much interest as the Wildcats and Aggies, though.
Runnels opens his season against Stillwater in two weeks.
