New team involved with Shepherd

X'avier Shepherd continues to be in touch with all of the programs that have offered him and he said Washington has reached out in recent weeks as well.
There is definitely interest in the Huskies since the Lakewood, Calif., standout knows a lot about the program and he's hoping to visit there in the coming weeks.

Shepherd, a three-star prospect by Rivals.com, plays on the same 7on7 team as Washington commit Troy Williams and that has piqued his interest even more in the Huskies.
"The newest school I've been hearing from so far is Washington," Shepherd said. "They've been talking to me a lot and they want me to go up there.
"Ever since I've been hearing from them I started doing research on them and with Troy committed there I did even more research and I talked to him a lot. He's been telling me what it's like up there so hopefully I can take a visit."
Nothing has been scheduled yet but Shepherd, a 6-foot, 175-pound prospect, said he's hoping to schedule something this summer. If that cannot work out, then the Lakewood star plans to visit Washington sometime this fall.
"I have no plans to get up there right now," Shepherd said.
"I talked to my parents about it recently and they said they'll get back to me and let me know as soon as we can go up there. I was hoping sometime this summer but if not I'll head up there sometime this fall."
So far, Shepherd has received offers from Arizona, Cal, Colorado, Fresno State, Oregon State, UCLA and Utah. No favorites have emerged and Shepherd said he wants to keep all his options open.
"I'm still keeping everything really neutral with all the schools," Shepherd said. "I haven't started narrowing anything down yet.
"I'm still keeping all my options open. I love all the offers I do have and I talk to coaches on a weekly basis to let them know I'm still interested in all of them."
