Chris Steele de-committed from UCLA last week. Top schools have taken notice and once again are coming after the 2019 four-star defensive back in earnest.

The Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco standout said one big-time SEC program is already reaching out and then the schools who have consistently been coming after him have definitely not stopped.

Steele is back on the market and every school is taking notice.

“I've heard a little bit from Texas A&M,” Steele said. “But other than them, it’s really just been the schools putting the full-court press on me.”

Steele had been committed to the Bruins for months but recently backed off the pledge to have a much clearer look at all the programs recruiting him as he enters his junior season.

So many top teams have been offering Steele this offseason and he recently took a visit to Stanford, one of the top programs of interest as his recruitment moves forward.

Along with Stanford, Notre Dame, Alabama, USC and many others are in contention, along with the Bruins, but it sounds like Steele is going to take his time moving forward.

Visits are going to happen and the 2019 four-star defensive back is going to give a lot of programs a look before finalizing on another decision.

Other than the new interest from Texas A&M, which has not offered yet, Steele said there are a bunch of programs that have offered that have stepped up their efforts in the wake of his de-commitment from UCLA.

“Cal, Michigan, and I'm starting to hear from Nebraska a lot more, too,” Steele said.
