New schools involved with Johnson

Duke had been a long-time favorite for Justin Johnson and the Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco wide receiver even visited there this spring but the Blue Devils have slowed down their recruitment of him and so he's looking around a little bit more.
Johnson, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound three-star prospect, said San Diego State has gotten much more involved and Cal Poly could offer soon. The Aztecs are seriously in the mix and could be considered a new frontrunner.

"Those are looking like better options," Johnson said of San Diego State and Cal Poly. "When it comes down to it out of those two it will probably be San Diego State because I want to be at a big school and I want to play in a bowl game. I want to get that experience there.
"Since their camp they've been heavily recruiting me. I talk to their coach every other week and he loves me. I think he's waiting a little bit (to offer) because they want to make sure they're making the right choice."
Johnson, who plans to wait to make his decision until after his senior season, said he wants to take all his visits with stops at Duke and San Diego State for sure. He's still interested in the Blue Devils although they have seemingly backed off recently.
"It's disappointing because I got an e-mail that another receiver had committed," Johnson said. "That made me mad about them but I still e-mail them and they keep in contact with me."
St. John Bosco should have a strong team this season led by Johnson, four-star receiver and Cal commit Bryce Treggs, Arizona commit Beau Boyster and others so Johnson is looking for more exposure this season. Maybe more interest could come and he could have more options after the year.
"I'm going to wait," Johnson said. "I'm probably going to take some official visits during the season and then I'm going to weigh out my options probably in January."
