New schools in the picture with Abnar

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - As a senior, Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln running back D.J. Abnar has rushed for more than 1,200 yards and accumulated 21 rushing touchdowns.
"I never would have guessed that I would be able to do this much to help my team out," Abnar said of his gaudy stats. "My offensive line has done a great job giving me so many opportunities to score so many touchdowns and run for so many yards.

"It is basically about working hard in the weight room and in practice," Abnar added. "We just have worked hard and it has led to everything we have gotten."
The results produced by that hard work has led to some new colleges coming into the picture.
"It has led to some new interest from schools like Miami, Vanderbilt, Iowa State, Georgia Tech - a lot of bigger schools are coming after me now," Abnar said.
Abnar entered the season holding offers from Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Georgia State, Illinois, Iowa State, Middle Tennessee, and Southern Miss. Throughout his senior season, he hasn't given much thought to the recruiting process.
"I am not really worrying about any of that until our season is over," Abnar said. "Our focus all year has been on defending our (state championship) title and winning another one. We have a motto of just winning one game at a time, it is always about winning the game in front of you.
"I am just playing ball and when that is over, I will get into the recruiting stage," Abnar added.
When the season does wrap up for Abnar, he knows of two locations he will definitely be taking a visit to.
"Me and my teammate, (wide receiver) Raphael Andrades are planning to visit Vanderbilt together," Abnar said. "I know I am going to try to visit Southern Miss. Who knows after that. It will just come down to who is catching my eye at that time."
Abnar has yet to schedule any visit dates. He claims no leader at this time.
