New schools in on Hanna

After receiving the first scholarship offer, things are picking up in a hurry for Flower Mound, Texas tight end/wide receiver James Hanna.
Hanna, the 6-foot-5, 216-pounder, received a scholarship offer from Oklahoma State within the last few weeks, but has received even more attention as of late. The Texas prospect says he had a chance to speak with coaches from Alabama and Michigan. Tennessee, Notre Dame, Minnesota, Oklahoma, and several others continue to show interest.

"Well I talked to coach Major Applewhite from Alabama," Hanna said. "They sounded like they may offer soon. Tennessee sounded like they may do that pretty soon too and Minnesota as well. Those are the main ones."
Hanna says that in talking with the coaches, he is trying to find out where schools want him position-wise.
"For instance, at Notre Dame I'd be a wide receiver where at Alabama, I'd be a true tight end," Hanna said. "Honestly I don't know what I'd rather play because I haven't played much tight end. At Michigan, it's like tight end but also an H-back type of a position."
The last two visits were to Oklahoma State and Oklahoma.
"Oklahoma State, I got to watch them do a regular practice scrimmage and talk to their tight ends coach," Hanna said. "I really liked him a lot. I also got a chance to talk with coach (Mike) Gundy and he was really nice.
"The next day I went over to OU for their spring game. There were a lot of kids there and they were getting ready for the game, so we didn't get to talk to the coaches. It was a good trip though."
Hanna says that he's not planning any other unofficial visits with spring practice starting next week. He says most upcoming trips may happen after spring practice with an early decision probably to follow.
"I'm planning on committing soon after that," Hanna said about possible post-spring unofficial trips.
