New schools contact Pettit

Deshler (Ohio) Patrick Henry two-way lineman Colt Pettit picked up seven offers over the summer after a string of camp appearances. Additional schools have made contact in the last week, adding to the class of 2014 prospect's interest list.
"Sept. 1 was the first day they could contact me, so I got a bunch of friend requests and messages on Facebook and a few emails here and there," Pettit said.

"There were a few coaches I had not heard from [previously]. My dad got an email from Nebraska. I got a few friend requests and messages on Facebook from Minnesota and Missouri. Michigan State also messaged me. There were a lot of them, that's for sure."
Pettit's offer list includes Indiana, Purdue, Akron, Bowling Green, Kent State, Miami (Ohio) and Toledo. He had planned to take his first unofficial visit of the fall to Purdue on Saturday.
"Actually, I did not end up going. I was planning on going but I got sick and didn't get a chance to go," Pettit said. "I was planning on going to the Louisville-Kentucky game as well, but because of the sickness I wasn't able to.
"I definitely want to see them, but I know I have a lot of stuff going on. This weekend I am going up to Central Michigan to see my brother play. Then, I really don't want to miss Saturday film day and conditioning, so it is really hard to find a day I can get out to go to a game."
The illness that prevented Pettit from attending games this past weekend has also plagued him during the first two games of the season. Still, the 6-foot-4, 240-pound prospect has been playing on both sides of the ball and helped his team get out to a 2-0 start.
