New School On Five-Stars List

Leon Washington just dominates games. Last weekend against First Coast High School, Washington set a school record with 365 yards rushing. Funny thing is, Washington only started playing tailback this year.
“I really like running back,” said the 5-foot-10, 180-pounder who can also play wide receiver or cornerback. “A lot of schools are looking at me for tailback now.”

Washington has 1,782 yards and 23 touchdowns so far this season to lead Andrew Jackson High School in Jacksonville, Fla. to a 9-0 record. He’s also returned three punts for touchdowns but all three were called back due to penalties. This upcoming weekend he squares off against Ciatrick Fason for the state rushing title. He’s not really focusing on recruiting for obvious reasons.
“It’s still the same schools,” he said. “Florida State is my favorite followed by Florida, South Carolina, Oklahoma and now Maryland. Their great start has me interested and they were the first to offer me.”
Washington will set up his official visits after the season is over. He wants to go to a school where he can play early.
“Wherever I can impact the quickest I think,” he said. “I want to play as a true freshman.”
