New school in mix for Cormier

Alief (Texas) Hastings defensive tackle Christopher Cormier made a big impact at the school after moving from New Iberia, La. prior to his senior season. The 6-foot-2, 315-pound defender was one of the finalists for the Houston Touchdown Club Defensive Player of the Year Award.
Recently Cormier took an official visit to a Big 12 school. It was his first trip and the big nosetackle came away impressed with what he saw there.

"I had a real good time up at Missouri," Cormier said. "It was nice up there. I got to meet all the coaches and the players and everything and I really liked it. I liked everything they had to offer."
A new school has recently entered the picture for Cormier as well.
"Miami just started recruiting me," he said. "I've been talking to their coach that is recruiting me, Micheal Barrow. They really surprised me coming after me this late in everything but they have a new coach. They've only been recruiting me for about a week now."
Though the Hurricanes have yet to offer, Cormier feels that will come when he visits the campus. The visit is a bit up in the air at the moment, though.
"I'm going out there on an official visit," he said. "They've got to get all my paperwork like my transcripts and everything first. Since I moved we're having to get it all together. I don't know if I'll have it all done by this weekend so I might have to wait and go out there next weekend."
In addition to Missouri and Miami, the big defender has also been recruited by an SEC school. However, there has not been any communication as of late.
"I also have an offer from Mississippi State," Cormier said, "but I haven't talked to them since I got back from my Missouri trip. I don't know if they're still recruiting me."
With the first day players can sign next Wednesday, Cormier isn't sure when he will be doing so.
"I'm hoping to sign on signing day next week," he said, "but I may have to hold off a bit because of the Miami trip. If I can get my paperwork together before then, then I should be able to sign next week. If not then I'll have to wait I guess."
