Chandler Leniu was surprised by the new interest he's received from USC and the three-star linebacker is excited to see what happens next with the Trojans.

The Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco standout said the USC coaches have reached out in the last few days and an offer could be coming - especially if he plays well early in his senior season.
"Everything is pretty much the same but SC talked to me a few days ago and told me to come to their practice," Leniu said. "I guess they're still on the hunt for me and seeing what they want right now. They want me to come up there and talk to them and keep in touch with them so I will.
"It would be a nice offer. They're just on the verge right now and they want to see how my season is going to go. They're going to watch me and then make up their mind on an offer."
Leniu, who dominated at the Rivals Camp Series in Los Angeles this spring, currently has a top four with Kansas, TCU, Iowa State and Washington State leading the way.
The 6-foot, 225-pound inside linebacker has an official visit planned for Washington State in late September when the Cougars host Idaho and then in late November to TCU for the Baylor matchup.
No other trips are planned at this point.
"I think I'm going to wait until after the season for those other two," Leniu said.
Things could drastically change by then especially if USC decides to offer. The St. John Bosco recruit said he would have to seriously think about the Trojans and figure out what would be best for him.
"It would change things up kind of," Leniu said.
