New Orleans CB picks up three new offers

New Orleans (La.) O.P Walker defensive back Urell Johnson is one of the top athletes in the New Orleans area. He has held an offer from Louisiana Tech for some time and recently he added three more big ones.
"I just got offered from Southern Miss, Kansas State and Baylor," Johnson said.

The Southern Miss offer came this weekend while on campus for a Junior Day.
"It was nice," he said of the trip. "I like the campus. They showed me around the campus and the position coach was nice and Coach Fedora, he's a good coach and I was liking it. It was nice."
Among his two BCS offers, Baylor in particular really stands out to the corner.
"I heard about Baylor," he said. "I just know about the track team because wherever I go, I want to run track too. I know it's going to be a hard decision when signing day comes up."
In track, Johnson competes in the long jump and is a member of the 4x100, 4x200 and 4x300 meter relay teams. His personal best long jump is 23 feet 2 inches and his best relay splits are 10.7 in the 100, 21.7 in the 200 and 49 seconds in the 400.
While Johnson is competing in track currently, he is also keeping his eye on the football season and hoping to improve upon last year.
"Last year was nice," he said. "I liked my sophomore year better. We had more seniors and we finished further in the playoffs. This year is looking kind of young but we're going to click so that we get towards a state championship this year."
Along with the schools he is already hearing from, Johnson is hoping to hear from Ohio State and Miami. However, he has no favorites to this point.
"I'm not trying to pick anybody right now," he said. "When the time comes, I'll let you know but all of them are on the same level right now."
