New Ole Miss target has Rebel connection

Kevon Glenn added a couple of new offers this week and one came from Ole Miss. The 2019 linebacker out of Hampton (Ga.) Dutchtown sees every offer as a big offer, but the one from the Rebels may stand out a little bit more due to a connection he has to the team there.

"My cousin is Eric Swinney, a running back at Ole Miss, so to get this offer big for me," said Glenn. "Coach [Maurice] Harris is the coach who offered me and he is the coach who recruited Eric too. I remember coach Harris being on an in-home visit with Eric and they came to see me play basketball in middle school. It is funny how this happened."

Despite the family connection to Ole Miss, Glenn has yet to step foot in Oxford. He has watched the Rebels on television many times and he likes what he has seen.

"Ole Miss has an aggressive defense and they are known for the landshark defense, so I like that a lot. I also like how they gang tackle, how they play fast and just their style of play. It is a style of defense that I would love to play for."

When speaking on the phone with Harris, the linebacker was told that he has the speed and ability that the Rebels look for in players on the second level. Glenn got the offer, he heard some nice compliments from Harris and he is now ready to take a deeper look at Ole Miss.

"Oh yeah, I definitely have interest in Ole Miss," said Glenn. "I like the school, I have family there, I like their style and them playing in the SEC too is big for me.

"I have liked them since Eric went there, but this offer takes it to another level. They produce NFL guys, Eric has told me about it being a family environment and I am ready to check it out for myself."

Glenn is still keeping his options open and he does not have a leader at this time. The Ole Miss offer definitely has his attention. Iowa State also offered this week and he is approaching double digit offers.

He finished the 2017 season with 98 tackles, three tackles loss and two and a half sacks.
