New offer puts Oregon up top for four-star

Lancaster (Texas) High School cornerback Tyler Stephenson is one of the top cornerbacks in the state of Texas. It just so happens that the four-star prospect is also one of the top track athletes in the state as well. Due to both of those factors, Stephenson was thrilled with his most recent scholarship offer from the Oregon Ducks.
"It came in the mail today," Stephenson said of the offer. "I was waiting on that. I was pretty much interested because it's a good school but it has a great track program along with the football program. I was really excited and the first thing that came to my mind was that (Oregon cornerback) Walter Thurmond goes there."

With Stephenson anxiously awaiting the offer from Oregon, where does that put them on his list now that he has it in hand?
"I would say right now they're at the top," he said.
Stephenson's interest in Oregon doesn't end with the track program. He has also built a strong relationship with defensive backs coach John Neal.
"I always stay in touch with Coach Neal," he said. "I try to call him every week like he asks me to. He seems like a good person and seems real honest, like an honest and open person that I talk to."
The Rivals250 member already had hopes to get out to visit the campus in Eugene, Oregon but now he is even more determined to head out west.
"I'm most definitely going out there some time this summer or even the spring," he said.
With the Oregon offer in, Stephenson would still like to hear from LSU, Notre Dame, Texas and Florida State. Despite developing some very appealing options, Stephenson claims he is in no hurry to make a college decision.
