Joe Mixon recently narrowed his list of favorites to 16 schools but another offer just came in that has piqued his interest.
The four-star running back from Oakley (Calif.) Freedom who was the offensive MVP at the recent Rivals Camp in Los Angeles just landed an offer from West Virginia and with that offense and that production Mixon wants to take a look.
"I'm still looking at all of them," Mixon said. "The 15 or 16 schools are the ones that are really standing out to me but I'm not eliminating any of the schools that have offered me. I'm pretty sure the only school that's probably going to be in it is West Virginia.

"It was a surprising offer. I talked to the coach (last) Monday. He saw my highlight film and he was amazed by it."
The Mountaineers averaged nearly 40 points per game last season and the team rushed for more than 2,200 yards so Mixon is excited to learn more about the program and how he'd fit in the offense.
Many other programs are ahead at this point after he narrowed down his list but West Virginia is at least in the running and Mixon wants to learn more.
"I like it a lot," Mixon said. "I just want to look into them more and do more research."
Just because Mixon shortened his list does not mean it cannot change.
The four-star standout who's rated No. 82 in the 2014 class by Rivals.com said he's getting serious interest from Oregon, Alabama and LSU and those three could make his favorites list with an offer.
"They're looking at me," Mixon said. "They would definitely be up there."
A decision is not expected soon and the Oakley Freedom standout said he is looking at official visits. Nothing is finalized yet but Mixon said he definitely wants to see Ohio State before making his commitment.
Mixon's top schools at this point are Arizona State, Arkansas, Cal, Clemson, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UCLA, USC, Washington and Wisconsin.
