New offer for junior LB

Junior linebacker Zaire Franklin of Philadelphia (Pa.) LaSalle took a visit to Temple on Saturday to get a closer look at the program and returned home with his first BCS offer. He also has plans to take a few more visits.
"Temple was great," said Franklin, who is 6-foot-1 and 215 pounds. "I came down to their facilities and met with their head coach. He offered me. Overall I really enjoyed the visit and it feels good for my hometown team to give me one of my first offers."

As with most recruits, the first BCS offer was an exciting moment for Franklin.
"I previously did have an offer from Villanova, but it did feel great to get my first offer from a team in a BCS conference such as the Big East," said Franklin.
Another highlight for the Philadelphia linebacker was meeting new coach Matt Ruhle.
"Coach Ruhle was the man," said Franklin. "He seems like a great guy and everyone I know that plays for Temple loves him."
Franklin will make it a point to stay busy this winter and spring.
"Next up I have visits at Villanova, Pitt, Penn State and a few schools out of the region that I hope I can visit sometime this spring such as Michigan State, Ohio State and Georgia Tech," he said.
Also showing steady interest recently are Maryland, Rutgers, West Virginia and Old Dominion.
