New offer changes Williams leader

A new scholarship offer has put one school at the top of the list for Denton Ryan defensive end Josh Williams.
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound defensive end has had a flurry of scholarship offers started in May with one from Missouri. The Tigers have now been joined by schools such as Arizona, Baylor, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, and SMU.

Just this past week, Arkansas, TCU, and Central Florida joined the mix. One of those schools has jumped to the top for Williams.
"With Arkansas coming from the SEC, that's really impressive and surprising," Williams said. "Actually, they've jumped to the top of the list. I just love that conference and they have a great football team."
Williams says that behind Arkansas, "Nebraska and Missouri" are also high on his list. This summer, Williams plans to hit a few camps and will take a few visits.
"I'm working on getting those planned right now," Williams said. "I'm looking at possibly visiting Nebraska, Arkansas, and Oklahoma State. I'll probably participate in one or two camps, but I may just go up and check out the campuses to meet the coaches."
Williams says he plans to make his commitment either late in the summer or towards the beginning of the season. He'll be looking at several factors on his visits this summer.
"I'm looking for a winning school with good academics," he said. "I'm also looking at the depth at my position at each school."
