New Name Drawing Offers

Roswell, Ga. defensive end Emmanuel Awofadeju isn't a name well known in some circles. However, that's changing very quickly.
"I have offers from Virginia and Maryland and I think Stanford is going to offer once I get past admissions," said the 6-foot-5, 220-pound rush end who has a 95 average and an 1180 SAT score. "I also like Georgia and Tennessee and they're recruiting me as well."

Awofadeju's game is all about speed. He has been hand-timed in the 40-yard dash in 4.43 seconds and feels he can consistently run between a 4.5 and 4.6.
"Most schools want me as a defensive end but Virginia is recruiting me as an outside linebacker and Maryland has talked linebacker as well," he said. "My favorite is Stanford right now because of their academic reputation and the location. I hear the weather is great out there."
The talented defender registered eight sacks in his first four games this season and estimates he has more than 40 tackles and at least double digits in sacks. His team is 6-2 and he's starting to get his recruiting visits in order.
"I'm taking an unofficial trip to Tennessee this weekend to see them play Miami," he said. "I have an official visit set with Maryland for Dec. 6 and my trip to Stanford is set for Jan. 10. I'll take an official to Virginia in either December or January. I also want to see a game at Georgia or even at Michigan."
