New Mexico speedster lands first offer

The Land of Enchantment of New Mexico is known more for its beauty than its abundance of football players. Still the state has seen an improvement in its level of play and can be counted on for its share of football talent.
One player who has already received his first scholarship offer is cornerback/running back/wide receiver Jerrell Miller (5-10m 170, 4.4) from Albuquerque (N.M.) Highland.

Miller received his first offer from New Mexico and he is currently on his way to camp with Texas Tech.
Other schools showing recruiting interest in Miller are UTEP, Arizona State and Washington.
Though Miller plays a variety positions the prevailing wisdom is he will line up at cornerback on the D-I level. He's also an excellent kick and punt returner and will be able help a D-I school on special teams.
Not only does Miller have a great future on the gridiron but he is one of the State's best track athlete's, too.
Miller runs a legit 10.5 100-meter and recently took state at that event. He also won the state in the long jump and was second in the 200-meter and the 4x100.
It is football, however that Miller has a huge future in.
"Jerrell is just coming into his own as a football player," Highland coach Judge Chavez said. "He has only been in our program for one year and he's made significant strides. His best as a football player are definitely ahead of him."
"Jerrell is very dependable and never misses a practice," Chavez said. "He's a very hard worker and he's committed to what it takes to become a great football player."
"Jerrell isn't one of those guys who participates in track and wishes he could be a football player," Chavez said. "He's very tough and physical."
"Jerrell is excellent in all the things that can't be taught," Chavez said. "What can be taught, he has the will to learn. He's only going to get faster, bigger, and better."
