New Jersey duo earn more offers

They played against each other in the state championship game last season, a game in which Brian Roche's Don Bosco team squeaked past Jim Dray's Bergen Catholic team 14-13. Now the two are linked in another way -- as two of the more heavily recruited players in New Jersey.
"I just got an offer from Iowa," said Dray, a 6-foot-5, 226-pound tight end for Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic. "They go along with new offers from UConn, Boston College and Pitt, so things are starting to really pick up."

Dray now has seven offers and his top eight remains nearly the same.
"Rutgers, Boston College, Stanford, Virginia Tech, Pitt and Iowa are the ones I like the best who have offered," he said. "I also like Notre Dame and Michigan State as well and hopefully they'll offer soon."
Dray was named first team all-county, first team all-North Jersey and first team all-league as a junior. He is considered one of the top tight end prospects in the country.
As for Roche, his latest offer comes a little closer to home.
"Syracuse just called coach Toal and said they are offering," said the 6-foot-6, 282-pound tackle from Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep. "I also have offers from UConn, Iowa and Rutgers and I like Boston College, Notre Dame, Virginia and Virginia Tech as well."
Roche was named AP all-state, all-parochial, all-leage and all-North Jersey as a junior.
Both players will attend the Elite College Combine at the New Jersey Meadowlands on May 5.
