New Jersey CB Jones in limbo

When a prospect makes his verbal commitment he has usually come to the conclusion that the recruiting process is over and his difficult decision is behind them. All that remains is to make the transition to the college level.
The reality is, coaching changes create a lot of questions that can't be answered immediately, particularly for a high school prospect that has not spent much time around the college they plan on attending.

That's why Atlantic City, New Jersey cornerback Leavander Jones now finds himself in a state of limbo. He committed to Syracuse in late June, hoping to have a smooth transition to the college ranks. There were questions about Robinson's future at Syracuse at the time, however, and now that he is gone there is even more to consider.
The 5-foot-10, 161-pound cornerback had received an offer from Buffalo prior to his verbal commitment, and now he's leaning towards putting himself back out on the market.
"I'm just now sure right now. I just talked to the recruiting coach for my area and he said I still have my scholarship. I'm just not sure how much of the staff will remain there. I might just decommit and wait until around Signing Day before I decide something."
Jones had also received interest from James Madison, Hofstra, Akron, Temple and Villanova before his decision.
"I might try to get in touch with some of those (schools)," he said. "It's going to be a tough decision. I met Coach Robinson when I went up there for camp during the summer. He liked me and I liked him. I liked the whole staff. Knowing he's not going to be there definitely affects me.
"I like Coach (Dan) Conley and the wide receiver's coach (Chris White) a lot. I worked with (White) a lot while I was up there. I'm hoping he at least stays."
Atlantic City's season is over after they missed out on the playoffs. During the year Jones took an unofficial visit to James Madison. He said he is open to taking more visits in the coming weeks.
