New four-stars outside of the Rivals250

The final rankings of the 2016 cycle are in the books, with the Rivals100 and Rivals250 seeing plenty of movement after a busy all-star season. But just because prospects didn’t move all the way up into the Top 250 doesn’t mean they don’t deserve some recognition. Here’s the final batch of nine new four-stars outside the 250, players whose stock got a lift thanks to a fresh evaluation.

WDE Andre Anthony New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr

Andre Anthony
Andre Anthony ()

“Anthony made the most of his week at the Under Armour All-America Game. His quickness off the edge was too much for opposing offensive linemen. He is on the lighter side, but he has added bulk to his frame and kept his explosive first step. Anthony is committed to LSU.” - Jason Howell, Mid-South Analyst

OLB Noah Burks Carmel, Ind.

Noah Burks
Noah Burks ()

“Fellow All-Americans at the Semper Fi game said Burks was a player who demonstrated a tremendous hunger for the game and was passionate about improving. He already brings great size at 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds and does not lack for athleticism. His showing in California earlier this month continued an upward stock trajectory for the Wisconsin commit following a strong senior campaign.” - Josh Helmholdt, Midwest Analyst

LB Kash Daniel Paintsville, Ky.

"The Kentucky commit shined at the Rivals Camp Series back in the spring but plays 1A football in the Bluegrass State, not exactly the best barometer for predicting college success. However, at the Army Bowl in San Antonio, Daniel proved that he belonged in the four-star discussion and his play ultimately earned him the nod.” - Woody Wommack, Southeast Analyst

CB Kentrell Love Corona (Calif.) Centennial

Kentrell Love
Kentrell Love ()

“Love has great size and length on the outside. He tips a bunch of passes, is always close to the receiver and can turn and run with top-flight players so his athleticism is unquestioned. He could move to safety as well, but Love has the speed and playmaking ability to stay at corner. Currently committed to Washington, Love is also taking a serious look at UCLA.” – Adam Gorney, National Analyst

WDE Drelan Porter Batesville (Miss.) South Panola

“Porter has a breakout performance at the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star classic and showed he was more than just a big frame. Porter has long arms, sure, but his first step is what makes him so hard to handle. He baffled offensive linemen all week and showed that living outside of a football recruiting hotbed may have led to him being a bit overlooked and undervalued. Porter is committed to Mississippi State.” - Rob Cassidy, Southeast Analyst

CB Troy Pride Greer, S.C.

"The Notre Dame commit has the ideal combination of speed and length that you look for in a top-notch cornerback and his playmaking ability was on full display at the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas. Pride has steadily rose in the Rivals rankings throughout the 2016 cycle and looks poised to be a contributor with the Irish in the future.” - Wommack

RB Amir Rasul Coral Gables, Fla.

Amir Rasul
Amir Rasul ()

“Rasul used a nice showing at the Semper Fidelis All-American Game to boost his stock. And while he still needs to learn to hit holes and improve his vision, his size and speed make him a prospect with extremely high upside. He will need some coaching to reach his potential, but the ceiling is sky high. Rasul is committed to Florida State.” – Cassidy

SDE Caleb Roddy Denham Springs, La.

Caleb Roddy
Caleb Roddy ()

“Roddy had a dominant showing at the Semper Fi game. The 6-foot-5, 250-pound defender consistently penetrated the opposing backfield. His size allows him the flexibility to play defensive tackle and defensive end. Roddy is committed to LSU.” – Howell

DT Amir Watt Chicago (Ill.) Phillips

Amir Watts
Amir Watts ()

“Watts has been a player on the cusp of four stars throughout his senior year, and our analysts finally had a chance to put eyes on him when the Chicago native competed in the Semper Fidelis All-American Game earlier this month. Although undersized at 6-foot-3 and 260 pounds, Watts is ultra-quick off the snap and plays with a strength that belies his measurements. He is in the midst of a heated recruitment with official visits still upcoming to Pittsburgh and Iowa State this month.” - Helmholdt
