New entry in Robertsons top three

Rivals250 defensive end Auston Robertson's expected commitment is just over a month away, and there has been a change to his top three.
"I am not really liking Ohio State like I used to any more," Robertson said. "I'm starting to get a little closer with Michigan."

Michigan takes over the spot previously occupied by Ohio State in Roberton's top three. The other two schools that have been mainstays in that group for the last several months are Michigan State and Notre Dame.
"I am pretty close with Michigan State," Robertson said. "I have a good relationship with all the coaches and, actually, I was just on the phone with all the Michigan State commits. We were just talking about football and it was pretty cool. If I was to go there, I already have a relationship with the players.
"Notre Dame, I was supposed to get down there next weekend but I think I'm not going to be able to make it due to a 7-on-7 tournament. I am going to try to get down there because my mom really wants to see it down there. If I don't go (next weekend), I am going to try to plan something for my mom to go down there so she can talk to the coaches."
Michigan's rise on Robertson's list is due in part to an unofficial visit he took to Ann Arbor on Monday with friend and fellow four-star Austin Mack.
"I got to have dinner with Coach (Jim) Harbaugh and a couple other coaches," Robertson said. "One of the coaches told me that he saw something on my transcript that I didn't have that I was supposed to have. So, he sat me down and went over my schedule with me and gave me advice on what classes I should take. That means a lot; not too many coaches would do that."
Although they are the new entry on the list, Robertson said at this stage Michigan is right in the mix with Michigan State and Notre Dame.
"I wouldn't say they are behind because I understand they just got a new coaching staff and are a little behind in their recruitment," Robertson said. "Say I do go there and we start winning games or say we win a national championship, my class would be remembered because we changed the program around. Coach Harbaugh was explaining that to me."
Robertson plans to make his final decision on June 7 at the RAS Camp in Indiana and is having trouble distinguishing between his top three schools.
"Each day it is getting tougher and tougher," he said. "At each place I am getting a relationship with the coaches and when you have a relationship you don't want to turn them down."
The 6-foot-5, 205-pound Robertson is ranked as the No. 202 overall player and the No. 9 weakside defensive end in the 2016 class. He played both defensive end and tight end for Fort Wayne (Ind.) Wayne High last fall.
