Junior to Watch: Chris Ward
School: Waltham, Ma.

Position: Safety/running back
Size and speed: Ward is 6-foot-1, 190-pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds. He bench presses 225 pounds and squats 335.
Statistics: As a junior, Ward ran for more than 1,000 yards and 15 touchdowns. He also had an interception on defense and returned it for a touchdown.
Honors: All-area.
Favorite Schools: Boston College, UConn, Harvard.
Skinny: Ward is a big, physical safety who runs well and has good instincts. On offense, he’s a bullish running back who moves the chains.
“I prefer offense, but I’m not sure what position I’ll be recruited at,” he said. “I’m hoping to prove myself at summer camp this year.”
Ward will camp at Boston College, Bentley and maybe one other. He has his list narrowed for now.
“BC, UConn and Harvard right now,” he said. “But if others come in and recruit me hard, I’ll take a look.”
