New England OL commits

New England offensive lineman Ryan Durand has made his choice. So did the massive lineman choose Boston College or Syracuse?
"Ryan committed to Syracuse late yesterday," said Steve Durand, the father of the 6-foot-5, 328-pounder. "It was a tough decision, but in the end Ryan just felt that Syracuse wanted him more. They recruited him from the beginning."

Durand, who also had an offer from UConn as well as from BC and Syracuse, earned all his scholarships from camp appearances.
"He went to Boston College first but they didn't offer out of camp," his father said. "Then both Syracuse and UConn offered and finally BC offered just this past week. Initially, Ryan liked Boston College, but Syracuse deserves a great deal of credit. They really went after him and made him feel wanted."
Durand ran a 5.05-second 40-yard dash at Syracuse's summer camp and has very impressive quickness for a big man. He is expected to play offensive tackle at Syracuse.
