New England ATH likes locals

Dy'Onne Crudup out of New Haven (Conn.) Hyde Leadership is a small athlete who is starting to receive some early interest.
The 5-foot-9, 165-pounder has heard from Boston College, Syracuse, Rutgers, Northeastern, Rhode Island and Maine among others.

This season he helped Hyde Leadership to a 12-0 record as they won the championship. He was used all over the field particularly on special times, but also some at defensive back and running back.
"He went in the weight room last offseason and improved his body, he was a lot bigger and stronger," said Hyde Leadership head coach John Acquavita. "He tooks blows and hits and was a much stronger football player. He was ticking on all cylinders and took punishment for 12 games and was a born leader on the team."
Besides being a solid football prospect, Crudup also has helped won championships with the basketball team and on indoor track.
As for what position he'll play in college, Acquavita isn't quite sure.
"He's a very good defensive player even though we didn't use him like that," he said. "He has a lot of options on what he can do; he's an athlete, but also a good receiver."
This spring Crudup is looking at attending the Nike Camp at Penn State. He is also attending the Blue Chip Combine at Rutgers in May.
As for this summer, Crudup plans to take in camps at Connecticut, Boston College and maybe Rhode Island.
