Mooney gave a little insight on his Northwestern offer.
"I'm very excited about that offer," said Mooney. "I know they are one of the top universities in the county, they compete in the Big Ten and they have made three straight bowl games. I also like the coaching staff a lot. I have been in a lot of contact with Coach Heffner, who recruits this area, and Coach Cushing, the offensive line coach. I got a chance to talk with the head coach as well."
Along with his new offer, Mooney has been very busy hosting coaches at Malvern Prep.
"Virginia came in to school and I will be taking a visit there," said Mooney. "The other schools that came are Duke, Rutgers, Villanova, Syracuse, Delaware, Nebraska, Boston College, Wisconsin, Penn State, Connecticut and Miami."
Aside from his upcoming visit to Virginia, Mooney will also visit Northwestern in June. He is also deciding on summer camps.
"I have not decided on any camps to do yet, but I will be deciding soon though," said Mooney, who mentioned that he hopes to make a final decision before the start of his senior season.
Mooney also listed a few things that he will be looking for in a school and program when it comes time to make his choice.
"I'm looking for a school with good academics and that competes at a high level," said Mooney. "I also want to fit in well with the coaching staff."
