New B1G interest for Williams

Chicago DePaul College Prep defensive end Raequan Williams already has an extensive offer list, but new interest could fuel its growth after a strong senior season start.
Earlier this month Williams and his mother were starting to discuss official visits destinations, but those plans may be on hold now.

"We're still planning it out because ever since my three-game (film) came out, I've been taking a lot of calls from colleges," Williams said. "I've gotten a couple calls from Ohio State and Michigan State."
The interest from Michigan State and Ohio State just started in the last couple weeks and neither has offered a scholarship yet, but the show of interest by both programs has his attention.
"Everybody in the Midwest loves Ohio State. Growing up, that's everybody's dream school and that's mine as well," Williams said. "They called my coach and my coach was telling me how they talked to him. He said they liked how I'm moving a lot faster and easier this year."
Williams has had direct contact with Michigan State in the last week and was expecting another call from them early this week.
"They were asking if they offered me, would I be interested. I told them, 'yeah,'" Williams said. "A lot of my family and family friends are (supporters) of Michigan State. Everybody was calling, from my mom's friends to my grandparents saying 'you've got to give it a look.'"
Williams had planned to use four of his official visits to visit Arizona, Iowa, Missouri and Oregon. While interest in that group remains high, he has yet to schedule any official visits.
"Those schools are in the mix," Williams confirmed.
The 6-foot-6, 280-pound Williams is ranked as the No. 25 strongside defensive in the 2015 class and the No. 4 player in the state of Illinois.
