Neves switches to Arizona

Despite an early commitment to Utah, three-star prospect Kahi Neves had long been linked with other programs, namely Arizona.
It came as no surprise, then, that the two-way standout from Provo (Utah) Timpview flipped his commitment to the Wildcats while on an official visit to Tucson over the weekend.

Arizona, which recruited Neves at linebacker, had maintained its recruitment for months and convinced him that the desert was the place for him.

IN THEIR WORDS: "I see him more of a defensive end, maybe a defensive tackle," a coach at Timpview told Rivals.com. "He is a huge kid that really has never worked out a day in his life. Once he gets into a college weight room, he will blow up.
"Everyone was interested in him, but he committed to Utah so early. Oregon State had also asked about him quite a bit. I think he felt Utah strung him along as a quarterback and then barely flipped (defense) on him."
WHAT'S NEXT?: Neves has no other visit plans and the source said Neves should sign with Arizona -- which also holds a commitment from former Honolulu (Hawaii) Kaiser teammate Michael Eletise -- in February. After starring at quarterback in high school, Neves is set to arrive at Arizona at linebacker.
