Nevada WR beginning to get noticed

The Silver State of Nevada has picked it up when it comes to football prospects over the past few years. The class of 2006 looks to be another good group of athletes who should end up on the D-I level.
One player who garnered a lot of D-I attention last May was wide receiver Troy Cummings (6-0, 180, 4.5) from Las Vegas (Nev.) Shadow Ridge.

As a junior Cummings caught 43 passes for 948 yards and scored 12 touchdowns. He have averaged 22.04 yards per catch last fall. His on field performance saw Cummings earn first-team all-region, first-team all-conference and second-team all-state for 2004.
The word is getting out on the skill level of Cummings.
Arizona State, Cal, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, Colorado, Colorado, UNLV and Fresno State all came by the Shadow Ridge campus this past May.
All the above schools except Fresno State called Cummings during the time schools were allowed to make phone calls and expressed their interest in him.
Cummings has an outstanding work ethic and gets the job done in the classroom as he currently carries a 3.9 GPA.
Not bad in the weight room either, with his 255-pound bench and 415-pound squat. He also a recorded a 33-inch vertical jump at the NIKE Combine that was held at West Los Angeles College earlier in the year.
Cummings has the intangibles you like to see in a D-I prospect. He has great leadership qualities and a lot of character.
The scouting report on Cummings is he runs precise routes and will catch any pass near him. He is also the type of football player who plays big in big game. He's very poised and is always ready for a challenge.
Sounds like an excellent recipe for an exceptional wide receiver prospect.
"I am looking for a school that has outstanding academics and powerful sports programs," Cumming said. "I would also like to play for school that's in a big city."
