Nevada two-way standout heating up

Two-way standout Neil Spencer (6-2 ½, 260, 5.1) from Las Vegas (Nev.) Cimarron-Memorial was one the Silver State of Nevada's most decorated football players for his 2005 performance.
Spencer earned all-state and all-division on both sides of the ball as defensive lineman/offensive lineman as a junior and hardly ever came off the field.

On the defensive side of the ball, Spencer accounted for 53 solo tackles, 28 assists and four sacks. He is also a talented long snapper furthering his desirability with D-I schools.
A good all-around athlete, Spencer is also an outstanding heavyweight wrestler who took second in the state as a junior.
In the weight room, Spencer currently benches 305, squats 460 and power cleans 265.
"The big thing about Neil is he's an extremely smart football player and he's very quick," Cimarron-Memorial coach Jeff Smeltzer said. "Maybe he's not overwhelmingly fast, but he's very quick.
"Neil is also a knee bender," Smeltzer said. "Some big guys have trouble getting low, that is not the case with Neil, he's very flexible in that regard."
The scouting report on Spencer is he very tough, aggressive and has good strength.
A big senior season will definitely help Spencer's cause. He already has one offer from San Diego State and another could be on its way any day from UNLV.
Arizona, Arizona State, Washington, Nevada and Fresno State are all showing interest in Spencer.
Spencer made the Rivals.com Nevada top 10 team for the class of 2007, landing as the Silver's State's No. 6 prospect at any position.
